Medical icon Lonnie Loutzenhiser, MD

Lonnie E. Loutzenhiser, MD, a board-certified Denver orthopedic spine surgeon, joined Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center in September 2008. Dr. Loutzenhiser was accepted into an accelerated medical program out of high school and completed three years of undergraduate training at Youngstown State University, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Loutzenhiser received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, where he was chief resident for his final year. He completed his orthopaedic/neurosurgical spine fellowship at the Rocky Mountain Spine Clinic.

Dr. Loutzenhiser is interested in operative and non-operative treatment of adult and pediatric spinal disorders including deformity, and traumatic and degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, motion preservation technology (e.g., disc replacement surgery), and is trained in robotic spine surgery.

Dr. Loutzenhiser believes in not only the treatment of spinal disorders but also the treatment of patients. He feels that it is important to build a solid physician-patient relationship by listening to the patient and educating him or her about the condition so that he or she can be involved in the decision-making process of treatment options.
