Premjit (Pete) S. Deol, DO FAOAO is a fellowship trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of foot, ankle and lower leg disorders, with an additional focus on orthopedic trauma. Dr. Deol is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics based upon his service to the Academy, experience in leadership positions and roles in published orthopedic research and orthopedic education.

Education & Medical Training

Dr. Deol was raised in the Chicago area and then completed his undergraduate studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University in Missouri. Dr. Deol Is one of our osteopathic physicians, combining his traditional medical school training with osteopathic principles of treating the body as an integrated system which links structure to function.

He completed his orthopedic surgical training with the Cleveland Clinic Health System.  He went on to attend the prestigious fellowship at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center (OFAC) in Columbus, Ohio. Under the direction of his fellowship mentors, who were pioneers in designing and developing the modern day total ankle replacement, Dr. Deol was introduced to the most complex and cutting edge procedures performed in foot and ankle surgery.

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Deol’s clinical practice encompasses patients of all ages and activity levels. His primary focus remains on athletes/sports injury, joint replacement, trauma/fractures and reconstruction. His most common surgical procedures include:

  • Ligament repair/reconstruction
  • Arthroscopic surgery
  • Achilles tendon repair/reconstruction
  • Primary and revision total ankle replacement
  • Cartilage treatment/transplant
  • Complex fracture fixation
  • Minimally invasive surgical techniques (MIS).

He also sees a wide variety of second opinion consultations and routinely treats patients requiring revision surgery from previously failed surgical procedures. He has been trained on all the major total joint replacement options for the foot and ankle, including the great toe. Over the past 15 years, he has implanted hundreds of joint replacements, including custom 3D printed titanium implants for select patients with severe bone loss.

Patient Philosophy

His guiding philosophy is that “each patient has unique goals, expectations and hopes when they present for evaluation of an acute injury or a chronic condition. My job is to listen to what each of them has to say and identify the treatment plan that has the best opportunity to fulfill those needs – in whatever manner is most efficient in getting them back to the things they enjoy.”

Community Involvement & Personal Life

He serves as a consultant for several local universities and colleges in the metro-Denver area, including the University of Denver and Colorado School of Mines, as well as serving as a consultant for local amateur and professional dance companies. He has also served as a resource for numerous colleges and universities in the Rocky Mountain region.

Dr Deol is blessed to spend his non-work hours with his wife Lindsey and their 4 beautiful children. Their 3 girls and youngest son keep them on their toes with skiing, golf, tennis, mountain biking and hiking.
