“I have been a runner for 16 years and started to have chronic pain in my foot that intensified. I went to Panorama and met with Dr. Deol. He was very professional in evaluating my condition and came to the precise diagnosis that I was dealing with avascular necrosis. Going into surgery, I was confident in the staff at Panorama, but what I discovered that was just as important was their ability to help me deal with the emotional part of my recovery. Dr. Deol truly cared that I would be able to get back to where I wanted to be and set goals with me to get there. The positive and optimistic attitude that exists at Panorama made a huge difference and I was able to start running again four months after surgery. It was amazing because I had forgotten what it felt like to run pain-free, and I am now able to do other things I love such as ballet.”
-Erin Burns was treated by Dr. Deol, who conducted an avascular necrosis procedure.

When a recreational slide down a fireman’s pole turned anything but fun, financial advisor Joe Brienza of Golden was left with a complex fracture of his left ankle and a broken right leg. Correcting the ankle injury required two surgeries as the high-energy impact had caused soft tissue as well as joint damage. As Panorama specialist Bharat Desai, MD, explains, “In such traumas, giving the soft tissue time to heal before operating on the fracture lessens the risk of infection.” Both Dr. Desai and Brienza are highly optimistic regarding a long-term outcome without restriction. Brienza recaps, “Dr. Desai does an amazing job in surgery. I’d refer him to anyone. His team’s ability to be flexible and customize care for the individual is fantastic.”
-Joe Brienza was treated by Dr. Desai, who performed open treatment for proximal fibula, shaft fracture and ankle joint.

“I work in mining and was involved in an accident where my left arm got caught in a piece of equipment. Several doctors thought the only option was to amputate my arm, but then Dr. Rowland was called in because of his expertise. He said they were going to take me into surgery and do what they could to save my arm. After seven procedures and intense physical therapy, we started to see a turning point. Everyone at Panorama was so positive during the entire experience and their personal attention made me feel like I was their only patient. People thought it would take more than a year for me to recover, but after six months, I was able to return to work and take on a new position. It was a huge challenge, but I felt I owed it to Dr. Rowland and myself because he believed that if we worked hard together, we could save my arm.”
-Dennis Schwear was treated by Dr. Rowland, who conducted a tendon transplantation.

“My daughter, Madison Yoswa, had surgery with Dr. McNair after she tore her ACL playing soccer. As a high school junior, Madison was playing for the Colorado Rush Nike team and Grandview High School, and on the fast track for college recruitment. After the surgery, Madison started rehab with her physical therapist while also receiving positive encouragement from Dr. McNair. Her knee returned to being structurally strong and she started playing competitively again seven months after surgery. At the end of her senior season, she was playing better than ever and set a school record for goals in a season (17), was named the “Player of the Year” at Grandview, and made First Team All-State Class 5A. Madison will be attending University of Northern Colorado this fall on a soccer scholarship and we owe a lot to Dr. McNair and Panorama for her successful recovery.”
-Madison Yoswa was treated by Dr. McNair, who performed ACL surgery.

“I was 71 years old and needed hip replacement surgery. When I first met Dr. Lammens, I was very impressed with how he really listened to me and answered all of my questions. Over the next year, I had two surgeries and I remember waking up after one and seeing him smile and say, ‘Mary, you have strong bones. You’re going to be fine.’ I went from experiencing awful, persistent pain to now having a happy, more energetic life. I am so thankful for Dr. Lammens and the staff at Panorama. The scars from my procedure are minimal and I didn’t need pain pills during my recovery. Panorama is a role model for all medical facilities in how each person there uses their heart, wisdom and passion with every patient.”
-Mary Carman Keene was treated by Dr. Lammens, who performed a total hip arthroplasty.

“I was experiencing spinal pain that started to progress and cause numbness and tinkling in my lower body. I’m a pretty active person and the pain was really limiting what I could do. Dr. Loutzenhiser and the Panorama staff were very thorough in preparing me for my surgery and what really impressed me was the time they spent with my family to make sure they were comfortable. My surgery lasted four hours and I was discharged the next day. Afterwards, Dr. Loutzenhiser continued to follow-up on my recovery and even helped me in the process of submitting materials for medical leave at work. I am back to running and exercising again, and when I think about where I am today compared to where I was, it has been a significant change that exceeded my expectations.”
-Rebecca Ashmore-Sanchez was treated by Dr. Loutzenhiser, who performed a lumbar fusion of L5-S1.
