Panorama Provides Trauma Orthopedic Surgery Specialists to St. Anthony Hospital
Trauma Orthopedic Surgery, Denver
Our trauma surgeons specialize in orthopedic surgery trauma cases including pelvic and hip fractures, as well as complex intra-articular fractures. Our surgeons are on call to provide, in Denver, orthopedic surgery trauma coverage 24 hours a day every day. The majority of our trauma patients are seen at St. Anthony Hospital, which has been designated a Level I trauma center by the State of Colorado Department of Health. Emergency physicians, trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, critical care doctors, anesthesiologists, radiologists, nurses and CT techs are in-house, 24 hours-a-day and immediately available to the trauma patient. A Level I designation is the highest level of definitive and comprehensive emergeny and trauma care for patients with complex injuries, including those who require orthopedic surgery in Denver.
Subspecialty Training
Drs. Bharat Desai, Peter Lammens, Patrick McNair, Edmund Rowland and Nimesh Patel co-direct Panorama Orthopedic & Spine Center's Trauma Department. All five are fellowship-trained orthopedic traumatologists. In addition to traumatologists, Panorama Orthopedics' Trauma Service is comprised of certified physician assistants specializing in trauma and a patient liaison. Other physicians in our group assist by taking call and covering follow-up clinics. We also have trauma fellows, who are orthopedic surgeons that have completed their residency training but are taking an extra year to learn more about orthopedic trauma.
Spine Trauma
The spine surgeons at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center manage all spine trauma at St. Anthony Central. Cases range from motor vehicle accidents to spine trauma from the ski slopes.
